Michael Lind argues passionately for the status quo, only moreso

Sometimes you see something so dumb, you have to comment.

Your latest book is a sweeping economic history of America. In a nutshell, how did America become such an economic powerhouse?

Well, it did so as a result of collaboration between the government and the private sector and, increasingly in the 20th century, the nonprofit, academic research sector. It’s quite a different story in reality from the tale that is sometimes told of how capitalism grew up without controls in the United States, and then with the New Deal it came under regulation. In fact, the government both at the federal and the state level was deeply involved with projects for promoting the industrialization of the United States and the creation of a capitalist market from the administration of George Washington onward.

One of the ways it did so was through investing in infrastructure. We’ve had a series of ambitious infrastructure projects – the early canal system and then the transcontinental railroads that were funded by the Lincoln administration and Congress at the beginning of the Civil War, through to the interstate highway system. But government contribution to economic growth wasn’t just limited to that – it included funding basic research. For example, Congress gave a grant to Samuel Morse, who developed Morse code and the first American telegraph [in the 1840s], and the government role in R&D [research and development] became central in World War II. This continued after 1945, with Department of Defense procurement and the National Institutes of Health and other forms of basic federal R&D.

Sounds good, right? But he’s saying “we need to invest this ON TOP of everything else the federal government is already doing.”

In other words, we must have global military expansion, massive welfare state, AND get still in more debt.

The government spends more than ever. They could do exactly what Lind is talking about on a fraction of their current budget. The government has set its priorities. There isn’t going to be another New Deal. We aren’t the same country we were then.

Isn’t it funny how the liberals are also big nostalgics? The racial politics of the 1930’s and 1940’s are what made the New Deal possible. White men were allowed to run things competently back then.

Now we have an Asian professional/government/technological class that makes huge scams for government contracts, here’s one small example.

Yep, liberals, you get your diversity, but then your diversity isn’t going to distribute the goodies equitably! Your white skin will disqualify you from goodies.

Liberals want the competence and honesty, without the white genetics, and they think they can wave a liberal magic wand to make it all happen except the mean racists are preventing rainbow utopia from emerging spontaneously.

We live in a very different world. Now it’s the liberals’ turn to be nostalgic, to be the party of the squares, “the Establishment.”

We are the ones who are ahead of the curve; who can handle the Truth, and dare to see the world as it is.

The sugar coated liberal dream of niceness and the world like a big rainbow flag kindergarten is coming to an abrupt end, destroyed by its own contradictions.

That is why Socialism should always be National.

Exactly. Left and right have been flipped, the reds are the whites and the whites are the reds.

I used to get scolded when I refused to be impressed by the Bmw driving, Mcmansion owning new money people in Orange County California. I was accused of envying them but I suspected most of them had found a way to scam our system and as time goes on, I realize more and more that they WERE NOT indeed good, hardworking people, like those I grew up with, but vultures! They are STEALING our inheritance out from under us while you men watch football and you ladies shop for designer purses. You are sick, sick White people. Wake up, own up, and get busy protecting what’s left! And if you’re still too lazy to do anything, step out of the way and keep your mouth shut when healthy people do your work for you.

Examples of such scams? I wonder if the orientals have many families under one roof.
I looked up where my cousin lives in Foster City (he bought in ’75). Houses around $700K even with today’s economy. Where do they get the money? The place is 42% chink. I have heard they are worse than joos.

Otherwise sane people have a vested interest in inflation, re real estate.

My friend went to beauty school a few years ago. Her employer paid for her training to be a nail/facial/pedicure lady. She was the only person in that class that was not Asian. . Every single one of those women were being funded by good ole uncle same (California ROP).

No, yellows are absolutely not worse than Jews. Not even close. Yellows don’t look anything like us. They can’t “pass.” Jews are far more dangerous to us than yellows, there’s really no comparison.

This is one of the things that makes them so angry and potentially so dangerous. It is a species of gnostic faith; they are going to build heaven right here on Earth and it’s only the bad people who oppose them that stops it from working. With the exception of the more Hobbesian incidents in the Balkans and Rwanda, most genocides follow this pattern. They believed everything would be perfect once the obstacles to their perfect new world were “removed” so any and all actions to achieve this were justified.

A little wariness is a good thing but there have been a lot of paranoia about foreign troops since the 90’s . Doesn’t mean it won’t happen, doesn’t mean there aren’t rabid enemies out there, only its not worth getting worked up over.

Still it won’t hurt to stash a few extra guns and ammo no one knows about along with food.

The BNP candidate for the mayor of Liverpool, Mike Whitby, has been arrested by the police. The police broke into his home and arrested Whitby after a complaint by the Liverpool Echo newspaper. Go to the website of Simon Darby – http://www.simondarby.net

Anyone in England want to comment on this?

    • mindweapon says:

What the heck is the charge? Racism?

      • Phil says:

No. Something to do with finances. But Simon Darby says it political. The local police seems to be connected with the Labour Party. The police broke down his door to arrest him. Overkill.

Simon Darby’s website gives clear examples of some of the English newspapers(and
other media) bias against the BNP. I would recommend people search his archives,
        especially the last few months.

    @Phil

I can’t say anything about the BNP. I consider them controlled opposition to a large extent. Plus, on the whole, they are massive douchebags.

I am 99% decided to get behind these guys:

    http://www.ukip.org/

They are now the third biggest UK party. Their main mission, to extract the UK from the EU.

This is their leader busting some commie balls in the European Parliament:

MW – ROP is California Regional Occupational Program. Work training for those who were laid off. My husband had that (although in another state) after he was laid off in retail. He was eligible for federal retraining. Many of our men could do that as welders, carpenters, etc.

    http://www.carocp.org/M1_curriculum.html

Even if you don’t work for someone else, you could work for yourself as a welder, home health care aide, etc. I tell the women all the time, get your CNA training and work as a home health care aide. Don’t go through an agency – you’ll make more on your own.

It’s worse than this. Nothing drives them as crazy as the suggestion that the mean racists should be allowed to self-segregate away from their insanity. They need the mean racists, obviously. Otherwise, they’d have one less lame excuse for their chronic failure.
